RESOLUTION 97. 241
APPROVING LAND USE GUIDE PLAN AMENDMEWT FOR JANCO, INC. FOR
PROPERTY LOCATED NORTH OF THE SOO LINE RAILWAY AND EAST OF PEONY
LANE (96150)
WHEREAS, Janco. Inc. has requested reclassification of the land use guiding from LAR (Living
Area.Rival) to LA -2.. (Living Area 2) for a 14.08 -acre parcel located north of the Soo Line
Railway and East of Peony Lane (directly east of the Conor Meadows plat); and,
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed said request at a duly called Public Hearing
and recommends approval.
NOW, THEREFORE+ BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does approve the request by Janco,
Inc. for reclassification of the land use guiding from LAR (Living Area -Rural) to LA -2 (Living
Area 2) for the 14.08 -acre parcel located north of the Soo Line Railway and East of Peony Lane
(directly east of the Conor Meadows plat), based on the following findings:
1. The timing is appropriate for urban development of the site.
2. The site meets the location criteria for LA -2 guiding.
3. LA -2 guiding would expand the City's opportunities to provide additional new housing, life
cycle housing, and housing that may by more affordable, in accordance with the City's goals
under the Livable Communities Act.
FURTHER, approval of the Land Use Guide Plan Amendment is contingent upon, and subject
to, the required review and response by the Metropolitan Council.
