WHEREAS, during World War H over six million people lost their lives in the Holocaust; and WHEREAS. the United States Congress in 1979 called upon Americans to set aside of Day of Remembrance to reflect upon the horror of the Holocaust and to strive to not let such horror mocc:ur; and WHEREAS, Yom HaShoah, the Day of Remembrance, is schedule for Sunday, May 4019970 and the Plymouth Human Rights Commission has requested dot Sunday, May 4. 1997 be proclaimed as Yom HaShoah, the Day of Remembrance in the City of Plymouth; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Plymouth. Minnesota. that Sunday, May 4, 1991 is hereby proclaimed Yom HaShoah, the Day of Remembrance for Holocaust Victims, in the City of Plymouth. Adopted by the City Council on April 2, 1997. •
