HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2013-389CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION No. 2013-389 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE 2014 COMPENSATION AND CLASSIFICATION PLAN FOR NON -REPRESENTED EMPLOYEES WHEREAS, the classification and compensation plan has been updated to reflect changes to the 2014 budget submitted to the City Council for review and approval; and WHEREAS, the City Council believes that hard work and service performed by employees for the City of Plymouth should be recognized through formal wellness and employee recognition programs. The City Council believes the benefits of attracting, retaining and motivating employees through such programs supports employee job satisfaction and productivity. The result is excellent public and customer service for residents and businesses; and WHEREAS, the City Council believes that the safety practices of the City of Plymouth employees has a direct impact both on public service and on reduced rates for insurance and workers' compensation claims; and WHEREAS, non -represented police personnel are required to wear and maintain uniforms; and WHEREAS, city staff has developed a recognition program for volunteers based on their service to the community; and WHEREAS, the programs listed herein provide a direct benefit to residents and local businesses; and WHEREAS, these programs have been funded under the appropriate line items in the budget approved by the City Council. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should, and hereby does: Approve the 2014 Classification and Compensation Plans attached hereto effective January 1, 2014. 2. Direct the city manager to proceed with the ongoing implementation and maintenance of the compensation plan and its components. 3. Approve continuation of volunteer and employee recognition, and wellness and safety programs as budgeted. Approved thislOth day of December, 2013.
