HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2013-372CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION No. 2013-372 A RESOLUTION APPROVING A HOME OCCUPATION LICENSE FOR ALLISON GRABEK TO OPERATE A THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE THERAPY BUSINESS NAMED "BALANCED BODYWORK, LLC" OUT OF THE HOME LOCATED AT 5950 YUCCA LANE NORTH (201 3100) WHEREAS, Allison Grabek has requested a home occupation license to operate a massage therapy business from her home at 5950 Yucca North, legally described as follows: Lot 13, Block 2, Lake Camelot Estates -1 Addition, Hennepin County, Minnesota. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed said request at a duly called public meeting and recommends approval. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does approve the request by Allison Grabek for a home occupation license at 5950 Yucca Lane North, subject to the following conditions: 1. The home occupation license is approved for a home service business in accordance with the application and plans received by the city on October 11, 2013, except as amended by this resolution. 2. Compliance with section 21145 of the zoning ordinance, relating to home occupations. 3. The applicant must meet the following general standards: a) The home occupation shall be clearly incidental and secondary to the residential use of the premises, shall not change the residential character of the neighborhood, and shall not result in a disturbance to the surrounding uses. b) There shall be no use of equipment that would cause electrical interference to surrounding properties. c) The applicant shall use the driveway to acommodate parking demand. On -street parking shall not be utilized for parking demand. d) There shall not be any exterior storage of equipment used in the home occupation. e) Less than 25 percent of the gross floor area of the home shall be used for the home occupation. Resolution 2013-372 2013100 Page 2 f) The attached garage shall not be used for the home occupation for storage of equipment. g) No person other than those who reside in the home shall be employed on the premises. 4. The home occupation license is valid for one year from the date of approval. The home occupation license may be issued for a period of one year after which the license may be reissued for periods of up to three years each by the Zoning Administrator.
