HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1996-618• CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION N0. %. 618 REQUESTING HENNEPIN COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS TO UPDATE THEIR TRAFFIC SIGNAL STUDY COUNTY ROAD 61 AND WEST MEDICINE LAKE DRIVE CITY PROJECT NO. 519 WHEREAS, there is a continued concern with the safe operation of turning maneuvers at the intersection of County Road 61 and West Medicine Lake Drive; and WHEREAS, nearby residents attended the October 16, 1996 City Council forum requesting that a traffic signal be installed at this intersection; and WHEREAS, the County has conducted a Traffic Signal Study in 1994 and updated the study in 1995 to determiaie if the intersection meets both the warrants as established by the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices and the County's "priority factor" in their traffic signal ranking system. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: That the Hennepin County Department of Public Works is requested to update their traffic signal study for the intersection of County Road 61 and West Medicine Lake Drive; and FURTHER, that if a traffic signal is warranted and meets the County's necessary priority factor that a determination be made on funding for the installation in accordance with County policy.
