AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION TO THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL OF
AMENDMENTS TO LAND USE GUIDE PLAN ELEMENT AND TRANSPORTATION
ELEMENT OF THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN (96141)
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth is undertaking a major update of its Zoning Ordinance, one
of the official controls that implements the City's Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, changes to the Land Use Guide Plan Element, including the Land Use Guide Plan
Map, are needed to ensure compatibility of the Plan with the new Zoning Ordinance; and
WHERE.�,S, amendments are also necessary to the Air Transportation Section of the
Transportation Element of the Comprehensive Plan in order to be consistent with 1995
amendments to the Metropolitan Aviation System Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed the proposed amendments at a duly called
Public Hearing held on October 8, 1996 and recommended approval of the amendments;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITi' COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does authorize staff to
submit for Metropolitan Council review the amendments to the Land Use Guide Plan Element
replacing the text and map in its entirety, and the amendment to the Air Transportation Section
of the Transportation Element, replacing page 61 of the text.
FURTHER, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council will consider adoption of the
amendments following the required review and response by the Metropolitan Council.
