HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1996-2940 CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION 96-_2 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN THE 1996 GOOSE RELOCATION PROGRAM AND TRANSFERRING FUNDS TO COVER ADDITIONAL COSTS WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth has determined tha: it has a goose overpopulation problem; and WHEREAS, it has also determined that one of the most effective ways to imps^t this problem is to participate in the annual goose round -up through the University of Minnesota; and WHEREAS, we have been notified that for 1996 there is no relocation area for the adult geese; and WHEREAS, the University of Minnesota has notified us that it will be using the food shelf program for all adult geese captured in the 1996 program; and WHEREAS, we have also been notified there will be an additional cost of $15 per adult goose for processing fees; and WHEREAS, City staff believes the maximum additional amount needed for 1996 should be $4,500. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Plymouth City Council that the Public Safety Department is authorized to participate in the 1996 goose relocation effort within the City; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that $4,500 will be transferred from Contingency Funds to the goose relocation account, 101-189-899.67 to cover additional costa of the program, Adopted by the City Council on clay 15 , 1996
