HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1996-283CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION NO. 96- 283 GIVING CONSENT FOR THE MINNEAPOLIS PUBLIC HOUSING AUTHORITY TO ADVERTISE FOR PROPOSALS FROM OWNERS OF PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH FOR THE USE OF SECTION 8 PROJECT BASED HOUSING ASSISTANCE. WHEREAS, The City of Plymouth has adopted goals and objectives that emphasize the importance of providing an adequate supply of affordable housing in the City; and WHEREAS, the City has negotiated an agreement with the owners of the At the Lake Apartments to cooperate in attempting to obtain federal Section 8 housing assistance to be used at the apartment complex to make certain apartments more affordable; and WHEREAS, the Minneapolis Public Housing Authority has available Section 8 assistance that can be transferred to the Plymouth HRA to be used in Plymouth; and WHEREAS, the City must consent for the Minneapolis Public Housing Authority to publicly advertise for competitive proposals to utilize its Section 8 assistance in Plymouth; NOW THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it give its consent for the Minneapolis Public Housing Authority to advertise for proposals from owners of property within the City of Plymouth for the use of Section 8 Project Based Housing Assistance. FURTHER, that this consent is contingent upon the concurrence of the Plymouth HRA. Adopted by the City Council on May 15, 1996.
