HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1996-269J City of Plymouth Resolution % - 269 AUTHORIZING CITY OF PLYMOUTH PARTICIPATION IN LOCAL PERFORMANCE AID PROGRAM WHEREAS, the 1996 Omnibus Tax Bill created a new program call Local Performance Aid, which encourages cities and counties to develop performance measurement systems for local government services; and WHEREAS, the Local Performance Aid (LPA) Program will be partially funded by a mandatory reduction of Homestead and Agricultural Credit Aid by $1 per capita for every city and county; and WHEREAS, local governments participating in the program will receive aicl from the LPA pool; and WHEREAS, in LPA's fust year local governments must state that they are developing a performance measurement system to track simple workload measures; and WHEREAS, staff recommends that the City Council authorize participation in the LPA program to recover some of the reduction in HACA and because many workload measures are currently gathered; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, that participation in the 1997 Local Performance Aid Program by the City of Plymouth is hereby authorized, and that the Mayor and Deputy Mayor are authorized to sign the application. Adopted by the Plymouth City Council on May 15, 1996.
