CITY OF PLYMOUTH
RESOLUTION NO. 96- 236
RESOLUTION DIRECTING ISSUANCE FOR REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS
AND STATEMENTS OF INTEREST FOR DEVELOPMENT OF PROPERTY
AT VICKSBURG AND HIGHWAY 55
WHEREAS, on January 23, 1996 the City Council adopted a Concept Plan and Design
Guidelines for the City Center Area, and ;ncotEorated these guidelines by reference
into the Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, on March 13, 1996, Ordinance 96-5, creating the City Center zoning
districts and establishing allowable uses and performance standards for the City Center
Area was adopted; and
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth owns a 5 -acre site at the N.E. corner of Highway 55
and Vicksburg Lane, within the area designated for retail/entertainment uses by the
City Center Concept Plan, and zoned CC -RE, City Center-- Retail Entertainment; and
WHEREAS, the City Council now wishes to initiate development of this site in
conformance with the plan and the adopted zoning;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PLYMOUTH, AiINNESOTA, that staff is hereby directed to issue a request for
qualifications and statements of interest from potential developers; and
FURTHER, BE IT RESOLVED that a City Center Task Force; consisting of Council
Members Lymangood, Black, Preus, and Mayor Tierney; is hereby appointed to work
with staff to evaluate and make recommendations on any proposals received.
