HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1996-1310 CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION NO. 96- 131 WHEREAS, the Plywr)uth Fire Department has entered into an agreement with the State of Minnesota to provide response capabilities in the event of a radiological emergency at the Monticello or Prairie Island nuclear facilities; and WHEREAS, this contract requires the department to purchase or lease a vehicle; and WHEREAS, this contract allows for dual use and will enhance our command response capability during normal fire operations; and WHEREAS, it is deemed most economical to purchase the vehicle through a Hennepin County bid from an authorized dealership at a cost of $28, 482; and WHEREAS, the State has Ponding available to replace the funds spent from the City's 1996 Central Equipment Fund for the vehicle; and WHEPEAS, if the purchase of the vehicle is made before June 30, 1996, $16,000 is immediately available from the 1996 fiscal year funds, with the remaining costs reimbursed after July 1, 1996, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, that the purchase of a Chevrolet Tahoe for the use of the Fire Department is authorized from the Central Equipment Fund through a Hennepin County bid from an authorized dealership at a cost of $28,482, and the City will pursue replacement of the funds with $16,000 prior to June 30, 1996 and thW, remainder after July 1, 1996.
