HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1996-080• CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION 96- 80 CONCURRING WITH THE ACTION OF THE PLYMOUTH HRA TO INITIATE NEGOTIATIONS WITH THE CITY OF MINNEAPOLIS THROUGH ITS COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT .AGENCY (MCDA) TO ESTABLISH A COLLABORATIVE RELATIONSHIP FOR THE PURPOSE OF PRODUCING A PLAN FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF MINNEAPOLIS PROPERTY IN THE PARKERS LAKE MPUD IN PLYMOUTH WHEREAS, the City of Minneapolis owns certain vacant properties within the City of Plymouth that are available to be developed in accordance with the requirements of the Parkers Lake Mixed-use Planned Unit Development (MPUD); and WHEREAS, the development of these properties offer a significant opportunity to contribute to the City's stated goal of promoting "the development of a variety of affordable quality housing for various income levels through the development approval process and through Housing and Redevelopment Authority activity''; and WHEREAS, the Plymouth Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) has proposed that its staff, with the concurrence of the Plymouth City Council, initiate negotiations with the City of Minneapolis through its CL mmunity Development Agency to establish a collaborative relationship for the purpose of producing a plan for the development of these properties; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CIW COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA hat it concurs in the action by the Plymouth HRA to authorize staff to initiate negotiations with the MCDA and the City of Minneapolis to establish a collaborative relationship between them and the Plymouth HRA and the City of Plymouth for the. purpose of producing a plan for the development of the properties owned by the City of Minneapolis in the Parkers Lake MPUD; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the results of the aforesaid negotiations are subject to the review and approval of the Plymouth HRA and City Council. Adopted by the City Council on February 7, 1996.
