APPROVING THE APPLICATION TO THE
METROPOLITAN COUNCIL FOR THE PROVISION OF
PLYMOUTH METROLINK AND
PLYMOUTH DIAL -A -RIDE SERVICES FOR THE
CALENDAR YEAR 1996 AND
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF CONTRACTS REQUIRED FOR THE
IMPLEMENTATION OF THE APPLICATION
WHEREAS, The City of Plymouth under the Minnesota Transit Demonstration Program
commonly known as "Opt -Out" has initiated the Plymouth Metrolink and Plymouth Dial -A -
Ride Transit Programs; and
WHEREAS, the City annually submits an application including a management plan and budget
to the Metropolitan Council to obtain the funding required for the provision of such programs;
and
WHEREAS, on December 21, 1994 the Metropolitan Council granted approval to the City's
application for funding for the fust six months of 1995, including the Management Plan and
Budget; and
WHEREAS, on June 20, 1995 the Metropolitan Council granted approval to the City's
application for funding for, • ie last six months of 1995, including the Management Plan and
Budget; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has been apprised of the proposed program for the calendar year
1996, including its Ponding implications.
NOW, THEREFORE, HE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: That it should and hereby does,
1. Approve the Management Plan, Budget and Agreement for Transit Subsidy as
required by the Metropolitan Council for the calendar year 1996 in order for
them to provide the necessary transit subsidy to the City of Plymouth for the
continued operation of the Plymouth Metrolink and Plymouth Dial -A -Ride
Transit Programs,
2. Authorize the Mayor and City Manager to enter into the contractual agreements
with the Metropolitan Council, MCTO, and National School Bus Company for
the provision of transit services and funding for the calendar year 1996 for
Plymouth Metrolink and Dial -A -Ride.
