HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1995-7240 ( CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION 93 - 724 • I c 1:+ r I :� • ' 1: :+ c WHEREAS, staff prepared background research and presentations on the benefits of alternative street design standards; and, WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed said request at a duly calk i meeting and recommends approval; NOW, TORE, BE Ir HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCI� OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does approve amending the Engineering standards to add two new low volume street design standards as described below: Alterative A • 50 -foot Right of way • 28 -foot street width back to back* • One, 10 -foot driving lane • Two, 7 -foot parking lanes • Two, 2 -foot curb and gutters • No Parking restrictions • Sidewalks required case by case Alternative B • SO -foot Right of way • 21 -foot street width back to back* • One, 10 -foot driving lane • One, 7 -foot parking lane • Two, 2 -foot curb and gutters • On street parking restricted to one side • Sidewalks required case by case Streets eligible for Alternative A and B shall have an Average Daily Traffic count (ADT) of less than 500. Streets eligible for Alternative B must also demonstrate that the narrower street design would help preserve natural resources or are needed due to manmade constraints. • Adopted by the City Council on November 21, 1995. • • ., 1:1Z I z Iv• The undersigned, being the duly qualified and appointed City Claris of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, certifies that I compared the foregoing resolution adopted at a meeting of the Plymouth City Council on November 21, 1995, with the original thereof on file in my office, and the same is a correct transcription thereof.
