WHEREAS, staff prepared background research and presentations on the benefits of
alternative street design standards; and,
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed said request at a duly calk i
meeting and recommends approval;
NOW, TORE, BE Ir HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCI� OF
THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does approve
amending the Engineering standards to add two new low volume street design standards
as described below:
Alterative A
• 50 -foot Right of way
• 28 -foot street width back to back*
• One, 10 -foot driving lane
• Two, 7 -foot parking lanes
• Two, 2 -foot curb and gutters
• No Parking restrictions
• Sidewalks required case by case
Alternative B
• SO -foot Right of way
• 21 -foot street width back to back*
• One, 10 -foot driving lane
• One, 7 -foot parking lane
• Two, 2 -foot curb and gutters
• On street parking restricted to one side
• Sidewalks required case by case
Streets eligible for Alternative A and B shall have an Average Daily Traffic count
(ADT) of less than 500.
Streets eligible for Alternative B must also demonstrate that the narrower street design
would help preserve natural resources or are needed due to manmade constraints.

The undersigned, being the duly qualified and appointed City Claris of the City of
Plymouth, Minnesota, certifies that I compared the foregoing resolution adopted at a
meeting of the Plymouth City Council on November 21, 1995, with the original thereof
