APPROVING THE FIRST ANOMMENT TO THE TRANSIT SUBSIDY AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE METROPOLITAN COUNCEL AND THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH FOR
THE PROVISION OF PLYMOUTH METROLINK AND
PLYMOUTH DIAL -A -RIDE SERVICES FOR THE
LAST SIX MONTHS OF 1995 AND
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF THE AMENDMENT BY THE
MAYOR AND CITY MANAGER
WHEREAS, The City of Plymouth under the Minnesota Transit Demonstration Program
commonly known as "Opt -Out" has initiated the Plymouth Metrolink and Plymouth Dial -A
Ride Transit Programs; and
WHEREAS, the City annually submits an application including a management plan and budget
to the Metropolitan Council to obtain the funding required for the provision of such programs;
and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council granted approval to the City's application for funding
for the first six months of 1995, including the management plan and budget on December 21,
1994; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council in an effort to return to an annual budgetary cycle has
decided to find the last six months of 1995 by basically doubling the subsidy amount approved
for the first six months of 1995; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has been apprised of the proposed program for the first six
months of 1995, including its funding implications and agrees that the program should
continue unchanged for the last six months of 1995.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCEL OF THE
CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: That it should and hereby does:
1. Approve the Budget and Agreement for Transit Subsidy as required by the
Metropolitan Council for the last six months of 1995 in order for them to
provide the necessary transit subsidy to the City of Plymouth for the continued
operation of the Plymouth Metrolink and Plymouth Dial -A -Ride Transit
Programs.
2. Authorize the Mayor and City Manager to enter into the contractual agreements
with the Metropolitan Council for the provision of transit services for the last
six months of 1995 for Plymouth Metrolink and Dial -A -Ride.
