WHEREAS, a section of Interstate 394 near Pew Avenue was originally constructed
with two baffie lanes to minim, disruption to the surrounding neighborhoods; and
WHEREAS, traffic congestion is now severe in this area, and many western suburban
residents are impacted by this traffic; and
WHEREAS, Sei:ate File 371 introduced by Senator Gen Olson calls for the
construction of a third traffic lana with appropriate noise mitigation for the neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, the T winWest Chamber of Commerce has endorsed this legislation and
calls for the endorsement of all member cities;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Plymouth, Minnesota, does hereby endorse SF 371 calling for the construction of a third lane
on I394 in the vicinity of Penn Avenue and installation of noise mitigation devices.
