HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1995-192CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION 95-192 APPROVAL OF A REVISED CONTRACT WITH THE MCTO FOR PLYMOUTH METROLINK SERVICES WHEREAS, The City of Plymouth under the Minnesota Transit Demonstration Project commonly known as "Opt -Out,' has initiated the Plymouth Metrolink and Plymouth Dial -A - Ride Transit Programs; and WHEREAS, The City annually submits an application to the Metropolitan Council for the funding required for the provision of such programs; and WHEREAS, the City Council has been apprised of the proposed program for the first six months of 1995, including its funding implications; and WHEREAS; the staff is currently Preparing the required application to the Metropolitan Council for the funding required for the provision of such programs for the last six months of 1995; and WHEREAS; the City Council approved the Transit Application for the fust six months of 1995 for the Metropolitan Council as contained in the staff report dated February 24, 1995 by the adoption of Resolution No. 95-154 on March 7, 1995; and W 18REAS; Resolution No. 95-154 authorized the Mayor and City Manager to enter into contractual agreements with the Metropolitan Council, the MCTO, and National School Bus Service, Inc. for the provision of transit services for 1995 for Plymouth Metrolink through June 30, 1995; and WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth implemented changes to the Metrolink system on September 26, 1994; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 94-656 approved by the Plymouth City Council on October 17,1994, the City of Plymouth and MCTO agreed to an extension of existing contract 93-000-071 from the expiration date of October 16, 1994 through March 26, 1995 with no rate changes;and WHEREAS; this revised contract provides for a total operating rate per revenue hour for large buses provided by MCTO of $103 per hour initially to $106.50 in the final year. The smaller buses presently being provided by National School Bus Service, Inc. as a subcontractor to the MCTO will now be provided via a separate contract with the City; and Resolution No. 95- 192 APPROVAL OF A REVISED CONTRACT WITH THE MCTO FOR PLYMOUTH METROLINK SERVICES Pap Two WHEREAS; during the lifetime of this revised contract new and/or newer vehicles may be provided on an agreed upon schedule.
