B'&ROLUTION NO. 95-178
CALLING FOR A SPECIAL ELECTION RELATING TO
THE ISSUANCE OF GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS
WHEREAS, the City Council (the "Council") of the City of Plymouth,
Minnesota (the "City") hes determined it Is in the best Iderest of the City to issue its
certain ptssral obligation bonds (the "Bonds") in order to finance the acquisition of
land fbr open space and trails within the City (the "Pmject"); and
WHEREAS. pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 473, as amended, prior
to the issu ncxs of the Bonds, the City must obtain approval fbr the lsffimm of the
Bonds from a majority of the electors voting on the questlw of issuing the Bonds;
and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Chy's Home Rule Charter and Mlnnerota
Statutes, Chapter 205, as amended ("Chapter 205% the City may call a opeclal
election for the purpose of voting on this matter.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH MINNESOTA AS FOLLOWS:
1. The Council proposes to Issue the Bonds in the aggregate principal
amount not to exceed $2,235,0110 to undertake the acquisition of land fbr open space
and trails, Including the acquisition of approximately 120 acres of lads for open
aipsoe, and the acquisition of approximately i t mites of trails.
2. The Council hereby calls for a special election to be held pursuant to
die City's Home Rule Charter and Chapter 2050 as amended, on Tuesday, May 23,
1995, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. relating to the authorization by the electors to
low the Bonds.
