No. 95 -141 WEEEREAS, the City Center Expansion and Renovation project includes $400,000 for furnishings for the completed building; and WEUEWAS, bids have been received for the major components of the furnishings project and preliminary cost estimates exceed the $400,000 budget; and WHEREAS, staff recommends awarding bids for the furnishings which require a long lead time, specifically the workstations and work areas on February 21; and WHEREAS, the City's specification for the furniture bids required that a successful bidder have furniture for private offices which is freestanding and does not require wall mounts because of the curvilinear design of the exterior walls of City Center, and the furniture of Haworth/Pink meets this specification while the furniture bid by Herman Miller does not; and WHEREAS, staff will continue to refine the remaining portions of the furnishings budget to reduce costs and remain within the $400,000 project budget, and will bring the remaining portions of the furnishings budget to the City Council thr approval on March 7, 1995; WHEREAS, staff recommends the award of bid for work area furnishings to Haworth/The Pink Company; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota does hereby approve the furnishings bids for the workstations and work areas to Haworth/The Pink Company in the amount of 5158, i55.
