S70 APPROVAL OF PLYMOUTH METROLINK CONTRACT EXTENSION WITH THE MCTO (FORMERLY KNOWN AS THE MTC) AND I73 SUBCONTRACTOR, NATIONAL SCHOOL BUS COMPANY, INC. WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth under the Minnesota Transit Demons iatioo Program, commonly (mown as 'Opt -Out,' has initiated the Plymouth Metrolink and Plymouth DLI -A -Ride Transit Programs; and VARERBA.S, the City annually submits an application to the Regional Transit Board for the funding required for the provision of such programs; and VAMUMAS, the City Council has been apprised of the proposed program for 1994, including its funding impliatim; and VAMBAS; the staff is currently preparing the required application to the Regional Transit Board for the funding required for the provision of such programs in 1995 through June 30, 1997; and WHEREAS, the City Council approved the proposed 1994 Transit Application to Regional Transit Board as contained in the staff report dated March 16, 1994 by the adoption of Resolution 94165 on March 21, 1994; and WHEREAS, Resolution No. 94165 authorized the Mayor and City manager to enter into contractual agreements with the Regional Transit Board and MTC, and the MTC has entered into a contracx with National School Bus Company as a subcontractor to the MTC for the provision of transit services for 1994 for Plymouth Metrolink; and WHEREAS, Resolution no. 93-3% adopted by the City Council on July 19, 1993 approved a one year contact with the MTC and National School Bus Company for transit services from August 1, 1993 through July 31, 1994 and was extended through September 23, 1994 by the adoption of Resolution No. 94-455 on August 1, 1994; and WHEREAS, this contract is about to expire and it is in the parties' best Interest to extend the existing ccntract for a three week period through October 16, 1994; and WHEREAS, this contract extension provides for a total operating rate per revenue hour for large buses provided by the MCTO in the amount of $85.34 per hour, and a total rate per revenue hour for the subcontracted smaller buses provided by National Schcol Bus Company in the amount of $76.68 per hour for operating coats and $20.81 per hour for capital costs. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THh CITY COUNCEL OF THE C -Y OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: That It should, and hereb,, does: Authorize the Mayor and City Manger to enter into an extension of the contractual agreements with the MCTO and National School Bus Company as an approved subcontractor for the provision of transit services for the period from September 26, 1994 through October 16, 1994 based on the contract prices detailed above.
