WHBRBAS, the Suburban Hennepin Regional Paris District (Hennepin Parb) has altered into
an Agreement with the Chicago Northwestern Railroad fpr the ammo purchase for use of a
portion of the railroad right of way, and
WiIDRBAS, this twit corridor located between the cities of Plymouth and Mioneopolis will
benefit the citizens by creating an o[f--road transportation link arid recreational trail through the
northwestern sububa which is proposed to eventually connect to the forty mit North
Hennepin Regional twill the Luce Line, as well as other regional trails, and
WHBRBAS, the City recognizes the advantages to the pablic in having the North Hennepin
Trail ply developeds signed and managed by one regional recreation agency with the
cooperation of and in coordination with local municipalities, and
WiiBRBAS, Hennepin Parks, in the operation of its regional park, park resevp and :he
North HenWin Regional Trail, demonstrates its knowledge and experience in designing,
adfl[Wstering, and maintaining NO quality facilities in a manner that is supportive of natural
resources preservation and public safety, and
WiUWJW, the Plymouth adopted C.imprehensive Trail Plan calla for a Clan I trail along the
Chicago Northwestern Railroad,
NOW, THBRBFORB, BE IT HEMY RESOLVED BY THB CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CrrY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNBSOTA, that it does hereby grant consent to Hennepin Parks
to acquire an easement for a trail within the right of way of the Chicago Northwestern
Railroad.
