RESOLUTION NO. 94-47
RESOLUTION PROCLA MUSIG FEBRUARY
AS AMERICAN HEART MONTH
WHEREAS, in America, someone dies from cardiovascular disease every 24 seconds,
accounting for nearly half of all deaths; and
WHEREAS, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, lack of exercise, and smoking are
the four major risk factors for cardiovascular disease; and
WHEREAS, the American Heart Association is launching a nationwide education
program aimed at reaching the children in our community with vital information about
lifestyle habits that if established early in life may reduce their risks of cardiovascular
disease as adults;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
PLYMOUTH MINNESOTA, that the month of February 1994 shall be proclaimed as
American Heart Month in the City of Plymouth.
Adopted by the City Council on February 7, 1994.
