HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1993-814CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION 93 -814 RESOLUTION AWARDING BID PUMPING FACILITY NO. 11 CITY PROJECT NO. 909 WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the construction of Pumping Facility No. 11, and all necessary appurtenances, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law, and the following bids were received complying with the advertisement: COMPANY TOTAL BID C. Field Company *$158,764.00 Municipal Builders, Inc. 161,700.00 Mikkelson-Wulff Construction 179,627.00 Richmar Construction 180,190.00 Gridor Construction 183,330.00 ABE Construction Company 188,390.00 Rice Lake Contracting 189,000.00 Barbarossa & Sons 197,600.00 * Did not comply with advertis �±ent WHEREAS, C. O. Field Company did not include the required bid bond along with their proposal; and WHEREAS, the City Attorney has given an opinion that this irregularity can be waived by the City Council if a bid bond is provided before the contract is awarded; and WHEREAS, C. O. Field Company will not submit a bid bond; and WHEREAS; it appears that Municipal Builders, Inc. of Anoka, MN is the lowest responsiole bidder, complying with the minimum specifications. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA,: 1. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into the attached contract with Municipal Builders, Inc. of Anoka, MN in the name of the Ctiy of Plymouth for the construction of Pumping Facility No. 11, according to the plans and specifications therefore approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the City Clerk in the amount of $161,700. 11 • RESOLUTION NO. 93-814 2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders and the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. Adopted by the City Council on December 20, 1993.
