HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1993-780CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION NO. 93-780 WHEREAS, officers of the Plymouth Volunteer Firefighters' Relief Association have approached the City Council for revisions in the lump sum pension benefit available to Plymouth Volunteer Firefighters; and WHEREAS, the Relief Association has proposed revisions to the increases in the lump sum benefit to $3,500 per year of service effective January 1, 1994, $3,750 effective January 1, 1995 and $4,000 effective January 1, 1996 per Minnesota Statute 424.02, Subdivision 3 payable on retirement after attainment of age 50, and completion of 20 years active service in the Plymouth Volunteer Fire Department; and WHERE, the City Manager recommends that the lump sum pension be approved for 1994 with an annual review be conducted before enacting the 1995 and 1996 increases proposed. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, that the request of the Plymouth Firefighters' Relief Association for an increase in the lump sum pension benefit from $3,000 per year of service to $3,500 per year of service effective January 1, 1994, $3,750 effective January 1, 1995 and $4,000 effective January 1, 1996; upon retirement after attainment of age 50, and completion of 20 years of active duty service, is hereby approved and ratified with 1995 and 1996 increases subject to annual Council review.
