RESOLUTION 93- 411
AUTHORIZING AN ADVERTISEMENT FOR BID TO ENGAGE THE SERVICES OF A
GENERAL CONTRACTOR FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE PLYMOUTH SENIOR
HOUSING PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth is considering the construction of 6.7 million dollar facility
for senior citizen housing at the northeast intersection of Plymouth Boulevard and 37th Avenue
North; and,
WHEREAS, the Plymouth Housing and Redevelopment Authority has, at a special study
session held on Tuesday, July 13, 1993, recommended the use of a general contractor instead
of a construction manager for the construction of such a facility; and,
WEM EAS, there appears to be sound reasons for the use of a general contractor so as to
improve the quality of constriction; the timing of construction; facilitate the management of
project development; and, gain possible cost savings;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PLYMOUTH, M04NMOTA that it should and hereby does direct Walker
Management, Inc. to Advertise for Bids for a Senior Housing Project with a base bid from a
prime contractor for all constriction work.
Adopted by the City Council on July 19, 1993.
