HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1993-374CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION 93- 374 APPROVING POLICY FOR COST SHARING WHEN SCHOOL DISTRICT ELECTIONS ARE HELD IN CONJUNCTION WITH CITY ELECTIONS WHEREAS, School District 284 changed their school district elections from May to November; and WHEREAS, School District 284 has recommended a cost sharing formula for the conduct of this election; and WHEREAS, those cities conducting elections are required by law to conduct the school district polling for voters within their city; and WHEREAS, the Council desires to adopt a policy that can be used for cost-sharing for School District 284 for the November, 1993 election, as well as future school district elections held in conjunction with City elections. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby adopts the attached policy for cost sharing when school district elections are held in conjunction with City elections. Approved by the City Council on July 12, 1993 0 POLICY FOR COST SHARING WITH SCHOOL DISTRICTS WHEN SCHOOL DISTRICT ELECTIONS ARE HELD IN CONJUNCTION WITH CITY ELECTIONS Resolution No. 93-374 July 12, 1993 The City Council authorizes the following policy for cost sharing when school district elections are held in conjunction with City elections: 1. The following items will be cost -shared on a proportional basis: A. Expenses for election equipment and supplies; B. Fees for use of polling locations; C. Salaries for temporary personnel (election judges), including training; D. Transportation costs; E. Required election notices; F. Communications devices; G. Postage; H. Ballot printing. 2. The proportional costs for these items will be determined by a formula using the percentage of Plymouth precincts in which that school district is included and the percentage of City vs. School District names and/or questions on the ballot. In split precincts of more than one school district, the percentage will be further reduced to reflect the actual number of registered school district voters in that precinct. 0
