HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1993-293CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION NO. 93-293 ACCEPTING THE PROPOSAL BY THE MINNESOTA STATE AUDITOR'S OFFICE TO CONDUCT A SPECIAL INVESTIGATION INTO THE EMPLOYEE COMPENSATION PRACTICES OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH WHEREAS, on April 14, 1993, the City Manager, pursuant to Minn. Stat. 609.456, formally reported on past employee compensation practices of the City of Plymouth to the Minnesota State Auditor; and WHEREAS, on April 23, 1993, based upon the information provided by the City Manager, the State Auditor recommended that a special investigation be conducted into the employee compensation practices of the City; and WHEREAS, the State Auditor has indicated there is no cost for the investigative services or work performed by the State Auditor; and WHEREAS, the State Auditor proposes to conduct the investigation with the assistance of at least one outside consultant, designated by the State Auditor, and paid directly by the City of Plymouth at a cost not to exceed $10,000. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it hereby accepts the terms of the special investigation and authorizes the Mayor and City Manager to execute the proposal of the State Auditor to conduct a special investigation into the past employee compensation practices of the City of Plymouth. The State Auditor's office is to make recommendations suitable regarding Plymouth's accounting and internal financial control practices as part of the investigation. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council hereby authorizes payment for at least one outside consultant to assist with the investigation, which will be designated by the State Auditor, and paid directly by the City at a cost not to exceed $10,000.
