AUTHORIZATION FOR PHASED CONSTRUCTION OF
CITY CENTER EXPANSION
WHEREAS, the needs assessment prepared by Polson/Trossen/Wright identified
space requirements for administrative office space at City Center building to
the year 2010 and has been previously accepted by the City Council, and
WHEREAS, the construction may be limited to the connecting link and addition
of approximately 13,000 square feet to existing building, all major work to be
completed except the lower level portion of the building addition, which will
remain unfinished until such time as staff needs determine occupancy, and
WHEREAS, specific direction authorizing the architect to modify drawings and
specifications to provide necessary bid documents required. Bid alternates
will be sought to determine the cost of the full project as planned. Also,
each of the following options will be costed separately:
*Building the addition, but finishing only the upper floor of the new
addition.
*Remodeling of all existing spaces, including the old ,public safety space
on the lower level.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that construction drawings and specifications be modified
as previously stated by Polson/Trossen/Wright P.A. and bids be advertised and
solicited based on those plans and specifications.
