HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1993-250CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION NO. 93-250 APPROVING THE 1993 CLASSIFICATION, COMPENSATION, AND PAY EQUITY HAPL04ENTATION PLAN WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 471, commonly known as the "Pay Equity Law," requires that every political subdivision of the State shall establish and maintain equitable compensation relationships between female -dominated, male -dominated, and balanced classes of employees; and WHEREAS, said legislation further provides that every political subdivision shall use a job evaluation system in order to determine comparable worth value; and WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth has completed a Pay Equity Study and Implementation Plan in confonnance with the requirements of the Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 471; and WHEREAS, said plan was originally adopted by the City Council on June 22, 1987; and WHEREAS, the classification, compensation, and pay equity plans have been updated for 1988 - 1993 to achieve compliance with the law and presented to the City Council for review and approval. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should, and hereby does: 1. Approve the 1993 Classification and Compensation Plan including the Position/Glade/Salary Chart and Salary Adjustment Chart attached thereto. 2. Directs the City Manager to proceed with the ongoing implementation and maintenance of the plan and its components. 3. Directs the City Manager to provide on or before September 1, 1993, a salary and benefit study of non -represented positions. This study is to include a report on life, health and dental insurance, mileage/vehicle policy, and vacation allowances. 4. Directs the City Manager to provide on or before September 1, 1993, a study of such additional policies as he deems appropriate including disability/annual leave program and tuition reimbursement.
