HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1989-826CITY OF PLYMOUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on the 18th day of December , 1989. The following members were present: Mayor Schneider, Councilmembers Vasiliou, Ricker, Zitur and Sisk The following members were absent: None Councilmember Sisk introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 89-826 RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR REVISED PENSION BENEFITS FOR THE PLYMOUTH VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHERS' RELIEF ASSOCIATION WHEREAS, officers of the Plymouth Volunteer Firefighters' Relief Association have approached the City Council for revisions in the lump sum pension benefit available to Plymouth Volunteer Firefighters; and WHEREAS, the Relief Association has proposed a revision in the lump sum pension benefit providing for an increase in the lump sum pension benefit of $2,400 per year of service to $3,000 per year of service, payable on retirement after attainment of age 50, and completion of 20 years active service in the Plymouth Volunteer Fire Department; and WHEREAS, the City Manager in his memo dated December 7, 1989, recommends that the lump sum pension be approved. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that the request of the Plymouth Firefighters' Relief Association for an Increase in the lump sum pension benefit from $2,400 per year of service to $3,000 per year of service upon retirement after attainment of age 50, and completion of 20 years of active duty service, is hereby approved and ratified. The motion for adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Ricker , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Schneider, Councilmembers Vasiliou, Ricker. Zitur and Sisk The following voted against or abstained: None Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
