Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on the 21st day of August , 1989.
The following members were present: Sisk, Zitur, Ricker, Schneider
The following members were absent: Vasillou
Councilmember Sisk introduced the following Resolution and moved its
adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 89-485
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A 1989 CONTRACT WITH THE
REGIONAL TRANSIT BOARD AND THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH FOR FUNDING PUBLIC
TRANSIT AND AN AGREEMENT FOR OPERATION AND MANAGEMENT OF THE
PLYMOUTH METROLINK PUBLIC TRANSIT SYSTEM WITH MEDICINE LAKE LINES
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth has operated the Plymouth Metrolink Transit System since
July 1, 1983; and
WHEREAS, the Regional Transit Board has assumed the role of contract administrator; and
WHEREAS, the City has annually entered into contract with the Contract Administrator
and with Medicine Lake Lines to clearly set forth the responsibilities of each party;
and
WHEREAS, the Regional Transit Board has agreed under contract to reimburse costs to the
City associated with Plymouth Metrolink operation for 1989.
WHEREAS, changes in 1989 contract costs and transit services have required a revision
to the contract originally approved by Resolution 88-681.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does, authorize the Mayor and City Manager to:
I. Execute a revised 1989 contract with Medicine Lake Lines in the amount of
$448,409 for Plymouth Metrolink services.
2. Execute a revised 1989 contract with the Reglonal Transit Board for all
transportation services included in the City's demonstration program in the
amount of $618,409.
3. The City Manager is authorized to execute the requests for reimbursement to the
Regional Transit Board.
The motion for adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by
Councilmember Zitur , and upon vote being taken thereon, the
following voted in favor thereof: Sisk. Zitur. Ricker. Schneider
The following voted against or abstained: None
