Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Plymouth, Minnesota was held on the 10th day of _ July ,
1989. The following members were present: Mayor Schneider. Councilmembers Vasiliou ,
Ricker, Zitur and Sisk
The following members were absent: None
Councilmember Sisk introduced the following Resolution and moved its
adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 89-400
RESOLUTION AWARDING BID
3.0 M.G. WATER TOWER
CITY PROJECT NO. 906
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the construction of a 3.0 M.G. Water
Tower, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law, and the following
bids were received complying with the advertisement:
Pitt-DesMoines, Inc. $ 2,643,300 $2,537,200 $2,527,700
CBI NA -Con, Inc. 3,300,000 No Bid 3,000,000
WHEREAS, it appears that Pitt-DesMoines, Inc. of DesMoines, Iowa is the lowest
responsible bidder, complying with the minimum specifications.
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission and the City staff have recommended that the bid
be awarded based on Bid A, the hydropillar design since it is sleeker and more
streamlined and also provides additional storage area in the enclosed base.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA:
1. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter
into the attached contract with Pitt-DesMoines, Inc. of DesMoines,
Iowa in the name of the City of Plymouth for the construction of the 3
M.G. Water Tower according to the plans and specifications therefore
approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the City
Clerk based on Bid A in the amount of the low bid of $2,643,300.
2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith
to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the
deposits of the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be
retained until a contract has been signed.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by
Councilmember Z;tur , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted
in favor thereof: mayor Schneider, Gouncilmemh rs Vasi1in.l, RirkPr, 7.irnr and gjalr ,
The following voted against or abstained: done
Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
