HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1989-194CITY OF PLYMOUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on the _3rd day of April , 19$2_ The following members were present: Mayor Schneider, Counci lmembers Ricker Zitur and Sisk The following members were absent: Councilmemberyasiliou Councilmember Zitur introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION 89-194 AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF CITY OF PLYMOUTH GRANT APPLICATION TO HENNEPIN COUNTY FOR INCLUSION IN THE URBAN HENNEPIN COUNTY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT APPLICATION FOR YEAR XV WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth has executed a joint powers agreement with Hennepin County thereby agreeing to participate in a Grant Application under the Urban County designation provided for in the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974; and, WHEREAS, a grant application has been prepared requesting funds to undertake a Community Development Program, including appropriate citizen participation, goal establishment and implementation plans and procedures; and, WHEREAS, the Housing and Redevelopment Authority held a Public Hearing on March 23, 1989 regarding the expenditure of the Year XV funds for the City of Plymouth and has recommended several projects for expenditure of said funds; and, WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the recommendations of the Housing and Redevelopment Authority and of the City Staff regarding the proposed activities and program amounts for Year XV; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does direct the administrative staff to submit the application for the City of Plymouth's Year XV participation in the Housing and Community Development Plans and Programs for expenditure on the following projects in the respective proposed dollar amounts: Housing Rehabilitation Grant Program $ 80,000 Childcare Assistance Payment Program 25,000 Scattered Site Home Ownership Program 23,854 Northwest Hennepin Human Services 5.000 TOTAL $133,854 FURTHER, BE IS RESOLVED, that the allocation to the Northwest Hennepin Human Services Council is contingent upon that agency securing the additional funds (SEE NEXT PAGE) Resolution No. 89- 194 Page Two for the proposed planning study from other communities and sources by July 1, 1989. The City reserves the right to reconsider that allocation and to consider reallocation of the funds to other eligible Community Development Block Grant Program activity after that date if the additional funding for the proposed planning study has not been secured. The motion for adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Qnnrjimpmher Sisk , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Schneider.
