HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1989-164CITY OF PLYMOUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota was held on the 20th day of Marrh , 1989. The following members were present: , Mayor Schneider, Councilmembers Vasiliou, Ricker, Zitur and Sisk The following members were absent: None Councilmember Sisk introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 89-164 APPROVING PRELIMINARY LAYOUT COUNTY ROAD 6 FROM FERNBROOK LANE TO COUNTY ROAD 101 CITY PROJECT NO. 829 WHEREAS, Layouts No. 1 and 2A, City Project No. 829 showing the proposed improvement of County State Aid Highways No. 6 and Vicksburg Lane from Fernbrook Lane to County Road 101 has been prepared and presented to the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That said Layouts No. 1 and 2A be in all things approved and that Hennepin County is hereby authorized by the City to acquire all rights-of-way, permits and/or easements required for said improvement in accordance with said Layouts No. 1 and 2A subject to the following: 1. Shorten proposed concrete medians (except between Vicksburg Lane and Niagara Lane) wherever possible in order to provide access to the adjacent driveways, but still providing safety for the protected left turn lanes at the major intersections. 2. Provide a guardrail along the south side of the roadway from approximately Niagara Lane to Juneau Lane. 3. Provide a privacy fence along the top of the proposed retaining wall on the south side of the roadway west of Juneau Lane. The proposed retaining wall and trail should also be moved as far as possible from the property line. 4. Provide retaining walls around existing substantial trees in order to minimize the removal of trees wherever possible. 5. Further review and redesign to flatten the curve at its peak adjacent to Parkers Lake to reduce encroachment on the private properties to the north of County Road 6. 6. The proposed trail on the north side of the road be deleted and replaced with a five foot wide sidewalk on both the north and south sides of County Road 6 from Dunkirk Lane west to the existing sidewalk. FURTHER, that final construction plans shall be presented to the City for approval before a construction contract is awarded. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Zitur , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Schneider, Councilmembers Vasiliou, Ricker, Zitur and Sisk The following voted against or abstained: None Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
