HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1989-155CITY OF PLYMOUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on the 6th day of March , 1989. The following members were present: Mayor Schneider, Councilmembers asiliou, Ricker Zitur and Sisk The following members were absent: None Councilmember Ricker introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 89-155 APPROVING A POLICY RELATING TO THE REMOVAL OF BASKETBALL STRUCTURES WITHIN STREET RIGHTS-OF-WAY WHEREAS, the City Manager has in a report dated March 2, 1989, prepared a policy providing for the removal of basketball structures within the public right-of-way: and WHEREAS, the City Council is concerned about the level of exposure and potential hazards to pedestrians and motorists posed by basketball structures within the public right-of-way; and WHEREAS, the proposeu policy would provide for a means of eliminating new structures and limiting those in existence while providing the City with appropriate protections. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should, and hereby does, adopt a policy relating to the removal of basketball structures within the public right-of-way dated March 6, 1989; and FURTHER, that the City Manager is hereby authorized to implement said policy. The motion for adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Zitur , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted rt favor thereof: Mayor Schneider, Councilmembers Ricker, Zitur and Sisk The following voted aga nst or abstained: Councilmember Vasillou Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopte
