Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on the 6th day of February , 1989.
The following members were present: Mayor Schneider, Zounclimembers Vasillou,
Ricker, Zitur and Sisk
The 't'ollowing members were absent: None
Councilmember Ricker introduced the following Resolution and moved its
adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 89-97
DIRECTING THE PREPARATION AND EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT WITH MORLEY
BUS COMPANY FOR THE PROVISON OF DIAL -A -RIDE SERVICES FOR THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Plymouth is desirous of establishing
dial -a -ride public transportation services for residents of the City of Plymouth; and
WHEREAS, the existing internal circulator service has been unsuccessful in meeting
ridership targets over the last two years; and
WHEREAS, the City has cooperatively prepared and solicited requests for proposal
with the City of Shakopee, Southwest Metro Transit for dial -a -ride services; and
WHEREAS, five proposals have been received, evaluated and interviews conducted; and
WHEREAS, the Regional Transit ejard has approved the specifications, and participated
In the proposal evaluation and interview process; and
WHEREAS, the City staff has analyzed all proposals and recommends that Morley Bus
Company be awarded a contract for the provision of dial -a -ride services commencing
April 17, 1989.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, that it should, and hereby does:
1. Authorize the City Attorney, working cooperatively with the City staff, to
prepare a contract with Morley Bus Company for the provision of dial -a -ride
services in accordance with the request for proposal dated December 8, 1988 and
the Morley proposal dated January 13, 1989 and January 24, 1989.
2. Authorizes the Mayor and City Manager to execute said contract; and

4. Directs the staff to advise Medicine Lake Lines of the City's intent to
discontinue the existing internal circulator service effective April 17, 1989
and solicit Medicine Lake Lines' cooperation in the transition from internal
circulator to dial -a -ride service.
The motion for adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by
Councilmember Zitur , and upon vote being taken thereon, the
following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Schneider, Councilmembers Vasiliou,
Ricker, Zitur and Sisk
The following voted against or abstained: None
Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
