HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Minutes 12-03-1997 BOEMinutes Truth in Taxation Hearing December 3, 1997 The Truth in Taxation meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Wold at 7:00 PM, in the City Council Chambers, 3400 Plymouth Blvd., on December 3, 1997. COUNCIL PRESENT: Councilmembers Bildsoe, Johnson, Preus, Spigner, Black, and Acting Mayor Wold. ABSENT: Mayor Tierney. STAFF PRESENT: City Manager Johnson, Assistant City Manager Lueckert, Public Works Director Moore, Community Development Director Hurlburt, Finance Director Hahn, Park Director Blank, Public Safety Director Gerdes, City Attorney Knutson, and Deputy City Clerk Hoffman. Acting Mayor Wold announced that the purpose of the meeting was to conduct the Truth in Taxation Hearing. Manager Johnson introduced the proposed 1998 budget. He explained the changes of property tax classifications enacted by the State He said the end result still meant a slight tax decrease for the average home value and average business value in spite of changes on the state level. Assistant Manager Lueckert presented the staff report on the proposed Budget. Acting Mayor Wold opened the public hearing at 7:20 PM. No one spoke, and Acting Mayor Wold closed the hearing at 7:21 PM. Acting Mayor Wold announced that the 1998 budgets and levies will be adopted on December 17, 1997. The Truth in Taxation meeting was adjourned at 7:22 PM.
