HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1992-688CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION NO. 92-688 APPROVING A VACANT LAND PURCHASE AGREEMENT FOR 15700 36TH AVENUE NORTH AND A REAL ESTATE PURCHASE AGREEMENT CONTRACT NO. A-11672 WHEREAS, the City Council desires that a community library of approximately 12,000 square feet be constructed within Plymouth; and WHEREAS, the City has entered into a Purchase Agreement for a four acre library site located at 15700 36th Avenue North, legally described as Lot 3, Block 2, Plymouth Hills; and WHEREAS, said Purchase Agreement contains the contingency requiring City Council approval to consummate the agreement: and WHEREAS, in exchange for supplying this four acre site, valued at $485,000, the City Council has requested that the County Library Board and Hennepin County Board of Commissioners execute a Real Estate Purchase Agreement Contract No. A-11672; and WHEREAS, on October 26, 1992 the Hennepin County Library Board, by unanimous vote, approved the Real Estate Purchase Agreement; and WHEREAS, on October 27, 1992, the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners, by unanimous vote, approved Real Estate Purchase Agreement Contract No. A-11672. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should, and hereby does, approve the Real Estate Purchase Agreement Contract No. A-11672 proposed by the Hennepin County Library Board staff on October 26, 1992; and FURTHER, that the City Council hereby approves a Vacant Land Purchase Agreement signed by the City on October 13, 1992, in the amount of $485,000 for a four acre parcel legally described as Lot 3, Block 2, Plymouth Hills and addressed as 15700 36th Avenue North, for the purpose of providing property for the Plymouth Hennepin County Community Library; and FURTHER, that the Mayor and Acting City Manager are hereby authorized to executed both agreements on behalf of the City; and FURTHER, that costs associated with this land purchase shall be drawn from Account No. 404404-901.00.
