RESOLUTION NO. 92-575
RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A POLICY WITH RESPECT
TO THE CITY ATTORNEY'S DETAILED BILLS
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to achieve a balance between the requirements of
the Data Practices Act and the concept of attorney/client privilege with respect to the
City Attorney's invoices; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor has proposed a procedure for handling data contained in the
City Attorney's monthly billing; and
WHEREAS, this proposal is set forth in the City's Attorney's letter of September 18,
1992.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does, adopt
the following policy with respect to the City Attorney's monthly invoices:
1. The monthly billing summary will be provided to the City Council on a regular
basis through the City Council Information Memorandum.
2. The detailed monthly bills will be filed in the City Manager's office and/or
Finance Department. All detailed bills will be available for City
Councilmember examination and copying if desired.
3. Portions of the bills which are not public data will not be disclosed to the
general public, however, the general public may view and copy those portions
of the detailed bills which are public data.
