HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1992-491CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION NO. 92-491 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE APPROVAL OF A GRANT AGREEMENT AUTHORIZING THE PARTICIPATION OF THE PLYMOUTH VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT IN RADIOLOGICAL TRAINING AND MONITORING WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota through its Department of Public Safety has requested that the City participate in a Joint Radiological Monitoring Program including members of the Plymouth and Maple Grove volunteer fire departments; and WHEREAS, the initiation of this project can form the nucleus for a joint hazmat team between these two communities and others; and WHEREAS, the State has agreed through a grant agreement, identified as No. 11560, dated 8/11/92, that it will reimburse the City up to $34,250 for any costs incurred including program administration, firefighter training and drills, and for the use of various equipment. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does authorize the Mayor and Acting City Manager to execute said agreement; and further, directs the Public Safety Director to continue his negotiations with the Public Safety Department with respect to hazmat radiological response to assure that the City of Plymouth is not held liable for any actions arising directly or indirectly out of such an agreement or activities associated therewith, and requiring that the State of Minnesota be responsible for any worker's compensation costs arising therefrom.
