HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1992-2050 CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION 92-205 DENYING LAND USE GUIDE PLAN AMENDMENT FOR THOMPSON LAND DEVELOPMENT TO RECLASSIFY APPROXIMATELY 50 ACRES OF PUBLIC/SEMI-PUBLIC TO LA -2 (LOW MEDIUM DFNSITY (92007) WHEREAS, Thompson Land Development has requested approval for a Land Use Guide Plan amendment to reclassify property located at the southeast corner of Rockford Road and Dunkirk Lane from Public/Semi-Public to LA -2 (Low Medium Density); and, WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has considered the request following a duly scheduled Public Hearing; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINK SOTA, that it should and hereby does deny the reclassification of land use guiding for Thompson Land Development for approximately 50 acres located at the southeast corner of Old Rockford Road and Dunkirk Lane from Public/Semi-Public to LA -2 (Low Medium Density), subject to the following findings: 1. The reclassification proposed is not consistent with the Park and Trail Plan Element of the Comprehensive Plan. It has been determined through the review and adoption of the Comprehensive Plan that this location is the most suitable location for a community playfield to serve the needs of residents of Plymouth.
