DENYING AMENDED MIXED PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR JOHN DAY COMPANY FOR
AN AUTOMOBILE SERVICE CENTER (91099)
WHEREAS, John Day Company has requested approval of an Amended Mixed Planned
Unit Development Plan for an Automobile Service Facility for the property
located at the southeast corner of 35th Avenue North and 34th Avenue North;
and,
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed said request at a duly called
P01ic Hearing;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does deny the request by John
Day Company for an Amended Mixed Planned Unit Development Plan for an
Automobile Service Facility for the property located at the southeast corner
of 35th Avenue North and 34th Avenue North, based on the following finding:
1. The Automotive Service Center use is incompatible with the retail use
existing north and west of this site and, planned east of this site.
2. The Automotive Service Center use is incompatible with the planned public
library to be located southwest of this site.
3. The Automotive Service Center use will impede the normal and orderly
development and improvement of surrounding property for uses permitted in
this zoning district and MPUD Plan.
Adopted by the City Council on January 27, 1992.
