RESOLUTION NO. 91-669
REQUESTING HENNEPIN COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO
CONDUCT SPEED STUDY
COUNTY ROAD 24
WHEREAS, additional residential development has occurred and is continuing along County
Road 24 between Highway 55 and Brockton Lane; and
WHEREAS, a petition signed by approximately 95i of the residents living along County
Road 24 between Highway 55 and Brockton Lane have signed a petition requesting that the
speed limit be lowered from 50 m.p.h. to 35 m.p.h. due to the adjacent residential
development which causes safety concerns and conflicts between pedestrian, bicycle,
school bus, and vehicular traffic; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to determine the proper and safe speed limit for the street.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA: That the City request the Hennepin County Department of Transportation to
make a request to the Commissioner of Minnesota Department of Transportation to
undertake a speed zoning study to determine the safe and reasonable speed on the
following County Roads
County Road 24 from Highway 55 to Brockton Lane.
