HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1991-267CITY OF PLYM = Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on `l.tc day of May r 1991 . The following members were present: Helliwell, Ricker, Vasiliou, Beronan The following members were absent: Zitur Councilmember Vasiliou introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption. RESOLUTION NO. 91-267 SUPPORTING INTERNATIONAL SPECIAL OLYMPICS GAMES WHEREAS, Minnesota will be hosting the Special Olympics the week of July 19- 27, and WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth has been designated the official cheerleaders for the Canadian Special Olympic team, and WHEREAS, many Plymouth residents will be volunteering many hours on various Special Olympics committees, and WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth wishes to show our strong support for the Special Olympics Games, and specifically, the Canadian Special Olympics participants, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that the week of July 19-27, 1991, is declared Special Olympics Week in Plymouth, and further, that. all Plymouth residents are encouraged to participate in any way that they can to demonstrate our hospitality and friendliness to the Canadian and all Special Olympics visitors to our area. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Helliwell , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Helliwell. Ricler. Vasiliou. Bermian The following voted against or abstained: None Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
