Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a _ regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota was held on the 6th day of
May , 1991. The following members were present: ,
Mayor Berown. Councilmembers Helliwell, Ricker, Vaeilinii, nud Zitllr ,
The following members were absent: None
ouncilmember Zitur introduced the following Resolution and moved
its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 91- 255
SCHOOL ZONE HAZARD EVALUATION
ZACHARY LANE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
CITY PROJECT NO. 044
WHEREAS, the City's traffic consultant prepared a School Zone Hazard
Evaluation for Zachary Lane adjacent to the Zachary Lane Elementary School;
and
WHEREAS, said study was received by the City Council on April 1, 1991; and
WHEREAS, said study recommends the installation of a pedestrian crosswalk
along with the associated signing.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: That the City staff is directed to implement the
following recommendations of the study:
1. Install a standard pedestrian crossing at the north school
driveway.
2. Install the necessary traffic signs to warn motorists of the
pedestrian crosswalk.
3. Move the existing overhead street light and increase its
wattage to provide better lumination of the crosswalk.
4. Replace the existing "Advance School" warning signs with larger
signs (36 inch) to give more adequate advance warning of the
school.
5. Install "Flashing Beacons" on the advance pedestrian warning
signs.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by
Counc_ilmnmher Vasiliou , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following
voted in favor thereof: MUnr Rergluan, Co mcilmemhers Helliwell, Ricker, ,
Vasiliou, and ?itur
The following voted against or abstained: None
Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
