HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1991-232CITY OF PLYMOUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota was held on the 22nd day of April , 1 91. The following members were present: lliwell, Ricker, Vasiliou, Zitur, Beronm The following members were absent: None Councilmember Helliwell adoption: introduced the following Resolution and moved its RESOLUTION NO. 91-232 REQUESTING MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO CONDUCT SPEED STUDY - VICKSBURG LANE WHEREAS, traffic continues to increase on Vicksburg Lane north of Highway 55, and WHEREAS, there is inadequate sight distance at the intersection of 36th Avenue and Vicksburg Lane based on a 50 mile per hour speed limit, and WHEREAS, Plymouth Creek School representatives have requested a review of the existing 50 mile per hour speed limit on Vicksburg Lane in the area adjacent to their school, and WHEREAS, it is necessary to review the proper speed limit for this street. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: That the City requests the Minnesota Department of Transportation to undertake an engineering study to determine the safe and reasonable speed on the following road: Vicksburg Lane from Highway 55 to County Road 9. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Zitur ' and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof. Helliwell,Ricker, Vasiliou, Zitur, Bergman , The following voted against or abstained: None Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
