VILLAGE OF PLYM)UTH
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the Village
Council of the Village of Plymouth, Minnesota was held on the 8th day of
September, 1969. The following members were present: Mayor I(ilde, Councilmen
Hintz, Humphrey, Johnson and lindseth. None absent

Councilman Humphrey introduced the following Resolution and moved its
adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 69-313
RESOLUTION URGING CONTINUATION OF TAX EXEMPTION
ON MUNICIPAL BONDS
WHEREAS, it is reported that the Congress of the United Staten to
considering proposals to remove the tax exemption accorded to municipal
bonds which are issued to finance the capital needs of local government
and
WHEREAS, the proposal to tax municipal bond interest would require
local governments to pay higher interest rates and thereby impose an
additional burden on the already overburdened local property tax source;
and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village of Plymouth, Minnesota
to urge the congressional representatives of the people of this municipality
and"of the State of Minnesota to take such necessary ,steps to asnnre the
retention of the tax exemption feature pertaining to municipal hond interest.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED to authorize and direct the Mayor to transmit
copies of this resolution to the appropriate elected representatives of
the people of the State of Minnesota and the United States Congress:
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded
by Councilman Johnson, and upon vote being taken thereou,.the following voted
in favor thereof;d Mayor Hilde, Councilmen Hintz, Humphrey, Johnson and
Kindseth No one voted against.
Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
