HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1969-293t i EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING `i OF VILLAGE COUNCIL OF VILLAGE OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA �k Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a special meeting of the ' I Village Council of the Village of Plymouth was held on August Z5, 1969, at i the Village Hall, 13800 State Highway No. 55, commencing at 7:30 o'clock p.m. �} The following members were present: Mayor Hilde, Councilmen Hintz, Johnson, Kindseth, and Humphrey. The following members were absent: Hone. i I Councilman Humphrey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 69-293 A RESOLUTION DETERMINING TO SUBMIT TO THE VOTERS AT THE NEST GENERAL VILLAGE ELECTION THE QUESTION OF WHETHER OR NOT THE VILLAGE SHOULD ADOPT OPTIONAL PLAN "B" AS ITS FORM OF GOVERNMENT WHEREAS, the recent resignation of the Village Clerk -Administrator has wade it necessary for the village to seek a new chief administrative officer, and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Village Council to obtain the beat and most highly qualified person to fill such a position, and WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the Village Council that a continuation of Optional Plan "A" as the form of village government will not attract the best qualified persons as apF.licants for such position, and WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the Village Council that the Council - Manager form of government should be adopted for the government of the Village I of Plymouth, and WHEREAS, the Plymouth Charter Commission, by action taken at its regular meeting on August 13, 1969, determined that it would support the action of the Village Council if the Council submitted to the voters the question as to whether or not optional Plan "S" should be adopted as the form of government of the village, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF PLYMOUTH AS FOLLOWS: 1. The Village Council does hereby set Tuesday, December 3, 1969, the date of the general Village Election as the date for a general village The above motion was seconded by Councilman Hintz and upon vote being ' taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Hilde, Councilmen } Hintz, Johnson, B3udseth and Humphrey.
