The following members were present: Mayor Berman, CouncilMQmbers Helliwell, Ricker, Vasi l inu. incl 7it>>r- The following members were absent: None Mayor Bergman introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption. RESOLUTION NO. 90- 87.3 APPROVING FIELD MAINTENANCE FEES WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth provides a wide variety of park and recreation facilities for its residents to enjoy, and WHEREAS, the City makes its park and recreation facilities available to numerous youth -serving non-profit athletic associations, and WHEREAS, many of these athletic associations contain memberships of children who do not live within the City of Plymouth, and Whose home communities do not contribute facilities for youth sport activities, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that 1. The Park and Recreation Department shall charge a $5 field maintenance fee to each child participating in a youth athletic association who is a resident of a city that does not provide an appropriate share of athletic facilities based on percentage of children participating. 2. Youth athletic associations using Plymouth playfields will be responsible for identifying said non-resident individuals and collecting a $5 maintenance fee for remittance to the City of Plymouth. 3. The funds collected will be deposited in the City's General Fund to offset the maintenance of the City's athletic facilities. 4. This fee shall be annually reviewed by the City Council so as to be kept current with the cost of owning and operating community facilities. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Zitur , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor BergTmin , Counc i lmembe rs Ricker.
