HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1990-769CITY OF PLYMOUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a _pular meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota was held on the 19th day of Nnumhar 1990. The following nenbers were present: , Mayor Berman. Councilmembers Helliwell, Ricker, and Zitur The following members were absent: Councilmember Vasi iou Mayor Bergman introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 90-769 AUTHORIZING "SCHOOL ZONE HAZARD EVALUATION" ZACHARY LANE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CITY PROJECT NO. 044 WHEREAS, the Zachary Lane PTO requested safety improvements on Zachary Lane adjacent to the Zachary Lane Elementary School; and WHEREAS, one of these requested changes was a school speed limit; and WHEREAS, a "School Zone Hazard Evaluation" is required before a school speed limit can be established; and WHEREAS, the City has received a proposal from its traffic consultant, Strgar- Roscoe-Fausch, Inc., to undertake the necessary study; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: That Strgar-Roscoe-Fausch, Inc. is authorized to complete a "School Zone Hazard Evaluation" on Zachary Lane for the Zachary Lane Elementary School in accordance with their proposal dated November 6, 1990. The cost of said study shall not exceed $2,000. FURTHER, that funding for the study be authorized from the City's M.S.A. Account (402-402). FURTHER, that staff and the consulting engineer meet with school and PTO representatives prior to conducting the study. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by reuncilmember Ricker , and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: _Mayor Bergman, Councilmembers Helliwell, Ricker, The following voted against or abstained: None Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
